Elite Parents School successfully organized an educational study visit for its primary pupils to the Ethnographic Museum (formerly the National Museum of Rwanda) in Huye District on Friday, June 5, 2026. The visit formed part of the school’s commitment to providing experiential learning opportunities that complement classroom instruction and nurture learners’ curiosity, creativity, and appreciation of Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage.

Throughout the visit, pupils explored the museum’s extensive collections showcasing Rwanda’s traditional way of life, including exhibits on cultural practices, governance, agriculture, craftsmanship, music, dance, architecture, and traditional technology. Guided by museum educators, the learners gained valuable insights into the country’s history, customs, and the remarkable achievements of past generations.

The study tour enabled pupils to connect theoretical knowledge from Social Studies and History lessons with real-life experiences. They observed authentic cultural artifacts, traditional household items, royal regalia, hunting tools, pottery, weaving techniques, and examples of Rwanda’s architectural heritage. Interactive discussions encouraged pupils to ask questions, share observations, and deepen their understanding of the importance of preserving cultural identity.

Beyond academic learning, the excursion promoted teamwork, discipline, responsibility, respect for public institutions, and appreciation for national values. Pupils demonstrated enthusiasm, curiosity, and exemplary behavior throughout the visit, making the experience both educational and memorable.
